There have been many additions to the 3.1 firmware. Enhanced PPPoE support (such as multi-session PPPoE, syslog traces, and support of static IP to name a few extras), support for RIP v1&2, new Object Filtering via the Configurator, and EasySetup via the built-in webserver.

A few additional features include:
  • A simple FTP server
  • An NTP client
  • PPPoE static routes
  • Simplified CLI for telnet and console (when available) access
  • Support for Ethernet III products
Minor stability improvements have also been done in following areas

  • The DNS configuration is properly distributed to DHCP clients
  • Default PPPoE configuration has TCP Frame Size enabled
  • NAT Load Sharing functions properly
  • Traceroute through the gateway functions properly
  • It is possible to identify non-significant 0's in IP addresses (typos like 010 instead of 10)
  • Addition of default objects for the Object Filtering functionality
  • CLI interface on telnet/ console (if available) for interactive connections or scripting
  • Masking PPPoE password in user interface
  • Preferences for Configurator software functions properly
