Are you trying to get a 2mb serial connection but are only receiving 512kb throughput? Be sure to turn compression off for the site (it is on by default) as it will limit you to 512kb connections. Also encryption will slow down a line quite a bit as all of your data is being encrypted on the MultiCom. Check with your distributor for expected connection speeds depending on the type of encryption you are using.

If you are still receiving a slower throughput than expected try measuring it with a pure ftp transfer. Be sure to watch that the connection light stays yellow instead of flashing green (showing that there are synchronization errors.)
