Below are some reasons that your Configurator software could not find the MultiCom Firewall on your network.

  1. your cables are not connected or are incorrect (check your Quick Install guide for cable use and verify that the LAN led on the Firewall is green)
  2. your workstation is not configured on the same IP subnet as the MultiCom Firewall
  3. another device has the same IP address as the MultiCom Firewall
Please verify that your computer is in DHCP client mode or if the workstation is configured with a static addresses, check that the workstation has a static address in the same subnet as the MultiCom Firewall. (the default is: LAN's interface 10.0.0.1, netmask 255.0.0.0 ).

When you run the Configurator and try to reach the router, make sure that no other device with IP address 10.0.0.1 is connected to the workstation. To test this you will need a static IP address on your workstation in the 10.x.x.x range (subnet 255.0.0.0) and try pinging the IP address 10.0.0.1 when your MultiCom Firewall is DISCONNECTED.

Finally, if you know the IP address of your MultiCom Firewall (the factory default is 10.0.0.1) just type it in manually and try opening the connection.
