Yes, VPN tunnels can exist with normal Internet access. This is the easiest to configure when both the remote and local IP addresses are static.

If you have a mobile VPN user (sometimes known as "Road Warrior") who want to connect with a changing IP address, the configuration is a little more difficult. You will need 2 IP addresses for the local or server side of the connection. 1 IP address for the unknown incoming VPN users and the other IP address to be used for Internet access. Default traffic will use the 1st IP address and allo traffic from the LAN to the Internet will use the 2nd IP address.

With future versions of the firmware you should be able to make this configuration with only 1 IP address.
