Normally each site has at least one PPP NumberEnabled configured with a phone number that is allowed to call the MultiCom router. If an incoming call does not match this number on any of the sites then it is not allowed to open a B-channel for PPP authentication.

As an alternative one site can use "*" in place of a PPP NumberEnabled. Using the "*" in place of a phone number allows a site to open a B channel an attempt PPP authentication with the incoming caller. You cannot use this feature on more than one site.
