If you do not have the IPSec VPN option (available with firmware 3.2 and higher) you will have the following options..
  1. rely on the username/ password verification of the MultiCom product and allow access to the built-in web server (access through the NAT firewall if you are using that)
  2. as above but use the HTTPS access of the webserver
  3. as above but use filtering rules to limit the IP source address of the incoming visitor
  4. with firmware 3.4.1 or higher use SSH Telnet v2
  5. use a 3rd party encryption/ tunnelling software on the internal LAN and then use telnet or http to access the MultiCom Firewall from the inside of the network (after authenticating with the installed 3rd party software).
SSH provides a good way to do this and is available in free versions for Windows, Linux, BSD and other OS's. Some useful links are below...
