The software release 2.5 provides Network Address Translation (NAT) in addition, and concurrently, with multiple Port & Address Translation (PAT). You can share a few static IP addresses between some servers with full external access (NAT) and all the other computers, hidden behind one or a few IP addresses with PAT. This allows, for example, to have more that one Web-server visible externally, to use some services which were blocked by the SecureWall (RealAudio, videoconferencing, etc) and to build several separate Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) using the same router.

A few additional features include:

  • The self diagnostics can now be seen on the Web interface
  • Upgrades can be done via the Web interface
  • PPP messages are displayed by the "Diagnose" and "Info PPP" commands
Minor cosmetical improvements have also been done.

The update to release 2.5 is not useful for blue windows users, since blue windows provides only Single User Internet Accounts.
